Please note the terms and conditions of the business. When transport is booked, it is understood that the customer accepts the terms and conditions.
Moving Hooves - Horse Transport has Care, Custody & Control insurance in place and third party liability however owners are still personally liable for their horse during transport.
Customers are entirely liable to cover the full cost of repairs of any damages caused to the horsebox caused by their horse. It is welcomed that the horsebox is inspected prior to transport and agree any damages/marks prior to the journey/loading commences, as disputes / disagreements on damages caused will not be entered into at a later date. General wear & tear is acceptable and to be expected, however any rips, tears, deep kick marks or other damages will be charged to the customer for their repair. Any damages will be repaired by a company chosen by ourselves.
It is a legal requirement that all horses are to travel with their passports. Therefore each horses passport has to be provided to us prior to the start of the journey. If the passport is unable to accompany the horse, we withhold the right to refuse or rearrange transport until the passport can accompany the horse.
Unless arranged prior, it is the customers responsibility to load / unload the horse. We are more than happy to help where required; however in the first instance loading will be the responsibility of the customer.
Due to the nature of the business (including, but not limited to, loading delays & traffic etc) we may encounter unexpected delays. Whilst we always try to incorporate extra time to allow for a certain amount of delays, we may encounter delays outside of our control. In this instance we will always aim to keep you updated with an ETA and progress.
The horsebox is equipped with a jockey area and (weight limits allowing) will always be happy to transport tack and any other required equipment. Please notify us in advance if you require lots of additional items, or larger equipment also needing to be transported (ie for yard moves) so that we can ensure we can accommodate within the journey, or incorporate extra trips if necessary. Should you wish to also travel with the horse, please notify us in advance and we should be able to accommodate the request.
All horses must be fit and well to travel (except in the event of a veterinary emergencies). Any horse deemed unfit to travel will be refused transport unless in the event of an emergency or in circumstances where it would be detrimental to the welfare of the horse for transport not to take place.
If during transport we deem your horse to require urgent veterinary care, we will contact the owner in the first instance. Should we not be able to do so we reserve the right to contact a vet on your behalf. We will arrange suitable veterinary assistance, if not within a reasonable distance to the owners usual veterinary practise. The owner will be responsible for all veterinary costs and/or emergency charges.
Should a horse display dangerous behaviour during transport and it becomes a concern for the safety of either itself or us, we reserve the right to return the horse back to the collection address should this be closer than the destination of the journey.
Urgent call outs are subject to a call out fee. We operate 24/7 for emergency call outs, however during the hours of 7pm-7am our slightly increased out of hours call out fee applies.
Invoices can be sent for any journey, via Email, Text, WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger. If you require an invoice for an insurance claim (I.e. Part of a Veterinary Treatment Claim) or for business purposes, please let us know and this can be provided to you.
Payment
All transport quotes are provided on an individual basis, and will remain valid for 7 days from the day of quotation. Should fuel costs rise significantly, the quote may be adjusted slightly, however will always be communicated & agreed with the customer prior to the transport taking place.
In order to secure any booking, a 50% deposit of the total cost is required. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 24 hours prior to the pre arranged transport time. Any bookings for a shared load spaces must be paid in full at time of booking.
We reserve the right to refuse the commencement of any journey until the payment has been made in full. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee your booking until the deposit has been received.
Late payments will be subject to an additional 10% charge per each 7 day period that payment is not received after the date of transport.
Should transport be booked and the horse is known to be a bad loader, please advise us so that we can allow extra time if required. Half an Hour loading time is included for the collection of each horse/pony. If the loading time exceeds half an hour, an additional charge of £10 per each extra half an hour loading time will become due.
Cancellations & Ammendments
Cancellations received after the deposit has been received can be transferred to another date with no extra charge (should availability allow).
If you do not wish to transfer the date, the deposit is non-refundable. Bookings can be transferred to a new date only once, after this a new booking must be made.
Cancellation Fee’s also apply if horse/pony will not load, is not safe to travel or if there is no passport present (with the exception of shared loads - see below.)
If the booking is cancelled within 48 hours of the journey, the booking must be paid in full.
For Shared Loads / Spaces on Existing Routes. If a reduced cost or discounted rate of transport has been agreed, (ie on an existing route or to book a space on a shared load) payment must be made in full at the time of booking and is non-refundable in the event of cancellation unless another booking is taken for the space on that particular journey.
We strongly believe that in order to ensure the safety and care of your horse that you should always check out the legal documentation held by the transporter that you are booking with. We aim to be as transparent as possible so that you can ensure your horses are in safe hands and transported legally.
